So your dentist has said this is the best option, and you didn't think to ask him the cost?

Around £1500 / £1750 these days, assuming the gum is ok to accept the titanium post (abt £350 extra to rectify if not).
There is a place at Shrewsbury where the dentist training is done - you can it done there by 'trainees under supervision' for less, with the obvious caveats.

"with the obvious caveats"
A good fluoride toothpaste will remove that.

One of the biggest causes of root death in the front teeth is excessively fellating above average size cocks

Costs about 25,000 Baht in Thailand. They'll reupholster your 3-piece suite in with that price, too.

It's not the gum that needs to accept the post it's the bone. You could also go for a partial denture.

Mrs Riddle had an abscess size of an water melon upper front, big but not clever. Ate all her upper gum and bone away, looked like Elephant women, had a bone graft and new implants/set of front railings, Ester Rantzenesque. Years before we met of course.

I had two front teeth done as implants over 20 years ago when it was pretty new technology... had it done at Guys and didn't cost a penny.
No problems with them since (touches wood!)

i had a front one put in about 8 years ago,in london, it cost 2 and bit grand, but that covered all the times i had to go back, to have the temporary tooth stuck back in, if you have it done abroad on the cheap, you have to look at how many appointments you'll need, i went about 5 or 6 times, before i walked out with the tooth i have now, depending on what type you have, and what stage your gums and bone are at, they reckon they can do it all on the same day? don't know about that , but although its painful and bloody, i totally recommend having implants, falsies are just bad news

I had the two front, top ones done a couple of years ago. Cost about £1500 per tooth at the time. Prices have come down a bit since then. Brighton Implants did mine, I'm delighted with them to be honest.
If I was to have it done again I think I'd probably go to one of the clinics abroad for half the price. At the time I wanted the peace of mind knowing they were only a couple of hours away if there were any problems. (There weren't)

As per martyboy, Hungary can be another good option. My mum had a raft of treatment by an excellent Hungarian dentist, cost about half what it would have in the UK. I must have the details somewhere, you can whomail me if interested mate. She was well worth a portion too.

Being a front tooth. I highly suggest you don't go the trainee route. Getting the gum line right is important, otherwise you're defeating the purpose which is purely cosmetics

Correct ted, that's what I meant.
kylay:
The work isn't all carried out by trainees, it's done by experienced dentist trainers who are teaching / showing / retraining other dentists. They need the volunteers in order to train, hence the fees are quite good. I hear what you are saying, though.

Had a front tooth done about 18 months ago, £2,750,NHS.
Grafted bone off the inside of my nose, to help the implant take. Not pleasnt.
The other 5 or 6 visits were tolerable.
Worth the money, if you can afford it.
Let me pay on the drip, £500 a visit or so.

I'm jealous of the UK prices. My wife's currently getting one and it's about $5000 USD for one.
